Pathfinder Minerals (AIM:PFP) is listed on the AIM market of the London Stock Exchange. The Company’s principal assets are two licences (760C and 4623C – the ownership of which is currently disputed) to mine heavy mineral sands in Mozambique.
In 2011 Pathfinder Minerals commenced a detailed feasibility study, with a view to developing a mine for commercial extraction. This study was placed on hold when, in late 2011, Pathfinder Minerals experienced interference within Mozambique in the form of a transfer of the licences (without Pathfinder Minerals’ consent) to an unconnected company with the similar name of Pathfinder Moçambique, controlled by General Jacinto Veloso, with the approval of Mozambique’s Ministry of Mineral Resources. General Veloso was, until that point, a director of Pathfinder Minerals and its local partner.
